ABOUT

DEJA SMITH, TOP PASTRY CHEF. 

Our journey began with a vivid imagination and an Easy Bake oven, culminating in the establishment of our pastry business. As children, we all have aspirations of who and what we will become in the future. While I had explored various interests over time, the thought of becoming a baker only occurred to me at the age of 15.

Growing up, I was an avid viewer of the Food Network and longed to try the delicacies I saw. It was only natural to take a step towards making them myself. I started with basic DIY microwaveable treats, graduated to creating items from scratch, and tirelessly demonstrated my passion to my family.

I eventually decided to pursue my passion professionally, enrolling at Warren County Technical High School. It was there, in 2014, that I discovered my innate talent for baking, and my passion was ignited. I went on to pursue my dream at college, where I obtained my Associates Degree in Baking & Pastry with a specialized focus in Culinary Arts in 2018. This experience helped me develop my business approach and differentiate myself from others in the field.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, I resolved to actualize my business aspirations and demonstrate my skills to the world. After all, as the saying goes, you can have your cake and eat it too!
